Admissions Requirements for Certification Courses
All students must be 18 years of age for rifle or shotgun courses, or 21 years of age for pistol courses. Students must have valid photo identification, and have no criminal background, no history of mental illness, and no misdemeanor or felony convictions. Persons prohibited by any State or Federal laws from owing or possessing firearms will not be allowed to attend any course. Students enrolled in any handgun classes involving live fire must be at least 21 years of age and have a pistol permit valid in New York or Law Enforcement Authority of Office.
Pistol Permit/License Policy
We offer pistol classes that require a course of live fire in order to attain full certification. Pursuant to New York State Law, students who are participating in live fire with handguns must have a valid State Pistol Permit or Law Enforcement Status to handle live handguns. Additionally, different counties across the State require a handgun safety class in order to apply for a pistol permit. Our organization will allow students without pistol permits to attend classroom portions of classes, however, they cannot participate in live fire sessions. After obtaining a pistol permit, students will be able to complete live fire class requirements at a later date. We will work with each student on an individual basis to ensure that they receive the training they need to meet their needs and goals. Students will receive all necessary paperwork to meet their individual needs.

Students are encouraged to bring ONE legally owned firearm to a shooting class. Personally owned firearms will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and the instructor reserves the right to the final say on whether or not a personally owned firearm will be allowed for use on the range.
